How To Create A Fun Family Garden

With The 'Wow' Factor... In Perth!

Regardless of where your property is located -  and whether it has bottomless sand, coastal exposure, or gravel and clay scarp soils - you can have a garden that will look great, have lower maintenance, and become a special place for your whole family to enjoy.

You can achieve this for your property by using these four key design elements:

  • Native Plants that can handle the Western Australian climate and have the best chance of surviving and thriving in your garden.
  • Water-Wise  garden design principles that can save you money on your water bill.
  • Enhanced Street Appeal that can increase your property value and make your home the best on your street.
  • Aussie Lifestyle Inspiration for your outdoor living and entertaining so you can have an enviable space for play, relaxation and escape!

The following designs show the various ways that you can incorporate these key elements into a functional and beautiful garden perfectly suited to your Perth property - and your growing family!

Aussie Family Backyard

Get your kids out of the house outside and into the garden.  Design a garden that provides multiple play spaces, vegetable patch, water feature or fire-pit and room for your table, chairs and BBQ.  All coming together with an Aussie style.  No matter how big (or small) your property is there's always room to be creative!

The 'No-Mow' Garden

You can get rid of that awkward piece of grass out the back of the house which goes ugly and brown in summer and use a selection of gravel, paving, bark chips, and native plants to create a low maintenance garden.  A garden in which you can actually spend more time enjoying and relaxing in - rather than mowing!

Convert-Your-Verge

An abundance of native shrubs and groundcovers means you can remove that water demanding grass verge and increase the environmental and aesthetic value of your roadside verge.  Watch the birds arrive and your property value increase as you utilise your frontage to its full potential.

Ultimate Backyard Makeover

Not all gardens need to be re-done from scratch. Work with your existing garden structure and enhance it with some feature trees, planter beds and maybe even a secret gravel garden... a design consult with us can help you see your garden through new eyes and see the potential you never knew existed!

Maximum Street Appeal

Create an inviting entrance to your home that welcomes visitors and impresses those  potential buyers.  You can tidy-up your frontage and and reorganise your entrance to your house so that the front yard becomes a functional space... and yes, native plants can be used in formal gardens too!

What You Can Expect...

There are 5 main steps to our concept design process :

1. Design Consult

This takes place on-site, where we usually meet, discuss your property and form a design brief  for what you would like to achieve at your place.

2. Site Analysis

For most properties a site Contour and Features Survey will be required (by a registered surveyor) to establish an accurate base plan.  An on-site analysis will also identify opportunities and constraints for the design.

 3. Draft Concept

A draft concept plan showing general design ideas, arrangements, options and strategies for circulation patterns, access, planting, hardscapes, and features.

4. Concept Plan

The finalised Concept Plan showing all design elements and features.

5. Planting Plan

Planting plan and schedule to match the concept plan and show all required plants .

Design Consult $97 (1 hr , Perth Metro)

We also design  themed gardens (such as Cottage , Japanese , Sustainable , and Modern Gardens) utilising native species and suitable exotic species... and can also offer you an outdoor furniture and features design option to compliment your new garden.
